Join Sterling’s Effort to End Alzheimer’s

by | Oct 1, 2020 | Start Your Conversation

In the past, we have focused our Alzheimer’s Association donation efforts in the month of June. Like many things in 2020, the Coronavirus forced us to change our plans. This year, we are making October our Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Here are the details:

Why We Are Passionate About Ending Alzheimer’s

Our fundraising efforts are in honor and support of Sterling’s founder (Leonard Astrup), family, and friends. Alzheimer’s disease—and other dementias—affects nearly every family across the nation. We believe in the Alzheimer’s Association’s commitment to accelerating the discovery of treatment methods, prevention, and ultimately, a cure.

How You Can Donate

Like the past several years, we will be asking patients and customers if they would like to donate at the registers. With your donation, we will add your name to a purple Alzheimer’s Association pin-up to add to our wall.

In addition to the in-store pin-up option, we are encouraging patients and customers who are focused on social distancing to visit our donation web page.

How You Can Help Spread the Word

After you donate, please help us spread the word on Facebook. Post your reason for joining the effort to end Alzheimer’s and include the hashtag #JoinSterlingInTheFight. For example, “I donated in memory of my mom #JoinSterlingInTheFight” or “I donated to help the loving caregivers #JoinSterlingInTheFight.”

We’ve also created a Facebook profile frame to help highlight your passion to end Alzheimer’s. You can find it by visiting this link.

How Your Donation’s Impact Is Doubled

Once again, the Astrup Family Foundation has agreed to match every donation up to $25,000! All you need to do is donate at your local Sterling location or on our donation web page, and your donation amount will automatically be doubled by the Foundation.

Where the Donations Go

Every dollar raised and every dollar matched by the Astrup Family Foundation will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association’s Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising worldwide research initiatives, your donations make a difference in the lives of those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
